Make the most of seasonal conditions and celestial phenomena with this planning calendar for photographers, curated by Paul Zizka! For the past decade, Paul has been carefully watching when particular seasons unfold, from the needles changing on Lyall's larch trees to methane bubbles appearing in frozen lakes. This calendar combines that knowledge with known celestial or annual events, creating the perfect tool to help you plan your photography in the Canadian Rockies.
→ Note: This is a printable PDF catered to photographers, not to be confused with a hard-copy display/decorative wall calendar.
Why this calendar?
I’ve spent much of the past decade wandering around the Canadian Rockies, documenting them and recording my observations. As fellow photographers started following my work, I began to receive questions about conditions. Inquiries such as, “when do the lakes thaw?” or “what is the best time of year to photograph the aurora in the Rockies?”
I felt there was a need to gather all that local knowledge and present it in a way that is concise, visual and beneficial to fellow photographers so they can make the most of their time here in the Rockies.
And that brings us to the Prime Time Calendar for Rockies Photography.
